 7th Annual Science Quiz 2012 for High School Students from across Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad, August 18, 2012... The one decade old Dr. K. V. Rao Scientific Society which has been established to preserve basic research and preserving, nurturing scientific talent in young children and youth call for entries for Science Quiz 2012-23 from students of classes 8th,9th, 10th and 11th classes from Schools from across Andhra Pradesh. The Quiz will be held in four major cities of Andhra Pradesh such as Hyderabad, Vishakapatnam, Tirupathi and Vijayawada.
This is the seventh year of the Science Quiz and being organised. The objective of the quiz is to identify and nurture Scientific Talent among young students both school and university level.
Announcing this in a press note issued in city the Foundation informed that the entry for the Quiz is Free and there is NO ENTRY FEE. Any one can send entry, but, each team should have two members. Maximum of two teams from each school only allowed The quizes will be held in Vishakhapatnam for that zone on 1st September, Vijayawada on 8th September, Tirupati on 6th October and Hydrabad on 13th October. Students from reigstered schools of the designated zones can apply to participate in that zone only. No applicant is allowed to participate in other zones other than their own zone.
The top two teams from city get to participate in final to be held in Hyderabad at the Society office in Jubilee Hills on 20th October, 2012. The top two teams will be declared winners in the finals. Subject areas covered in the quiz includ Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Space Science. The preliminary Zonal round will consists of an interactive written test. The zonal final will have rounds like oral, audio, video, rapid fire. The top three teams will be selected for prizes.
The candidates in preliminary rounds will have to make their own arrangements for travel and stay. However, the six teams selected for finals will be reimbursed travel expenses. The winners will be given away meritorious certificates, trophies and cash prize.. The last date for applying for the same Vishakhapanam 25th August, Vijayawada st September, Tirupati 1st October and Hyderabad 6th October.

Science Labs in educational institutions are in deplorable conditions. Foundation like Dr. K.V. Rao Scientific Society wants to come forward to wake up the government. The K.V.
