Minister for Higher Education and Minister for Primary & Secondary are the two cabinet rank ministers looks after the education in Karnataka state.

The foregoing account of the ministry-level organization of Education in the State does not include capacity building exercises, staff development programmes, and entrepreneurship development programmes, extension education programmes of various other departments such as those of departments of Agriculture, Industries and Commerce, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Irrigation etc;
